Preamble
Shisaba Water Resource Initiative (SHWARI) is a registered as a community Based Organization. It was majorly formed with the community of Shisaba to facilitate the community development. The community have many problems that cannot be solved with individual project.
PURPOSE
Shisaba Water Resource Initiative (SHWARI) is anon profit making organization which Aims at raising the standard of living and developing the spirit of self-hood and self reliance among the rural community and beyond.
This organization which is basically community initiative oriented plan to initiate comprehensive and integrate development projects in order to meet holistic needs of the rural community.
SHWARI is registered as anon denominational, non profit making, human service organization.
SHWARI provides services to all people without considering their creed, colour, ethnicity or gender. The project main aim is to see that the need and disadvantaged people receive the service through action incurred out its task. The project supplements the government’s efforts towards total national development in achieving social development goals (ADGs). It strives to work in partnership with all local, national, international and individual partners in promoting social justice, economic and cultural wellbeing of the rural community.
This is why the organization talk of integrated development that means that each project depends on one another.
The organization believe in a whole society that consist of all race and culture.

MISSION
To empower the community to engage in wealth creation and natural resource activities, to lower poverty and reduce vulnerabilities.
MAJOR AIM
The primary goal is establishing integrated projects in rural community is to raise the standard of living and promote the spirit of self sufficient among the community and beyond.
THE OBJECTIVES
The objectives of shwari shall be:-
 To influence policy shift towards a sustainable development system that is appropriate to aspirations of the people of Kenya.
 To build a strong movement with very direction and targets around development for All
 To develop skills and knowledge for the communities
 To source and disseminate information to the community
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION
The human are diversified and complex as well as dependant to one another, hence SHWARI aims at developing holistic approach to those needs .these includes; social- economical, cultural and education .However, eight areas have been identified as priority areas.
1. ORGANIC FARMING
Encourage organic farming to enable the community on Bio-intensive farming ,to enable the community grow enough and to eat to sell throughout the year Emphasis will be put on peoples behavior and attitude change in Agriculture ,care and Preservation of the environment .New technology of farming bio-diversity development with given considering
2. TRAINING
Establishment of leadership training /civil/cultural/gender development women ,youth ,disabled through forums ,field schools ,seminars ,conferences ,workshops ,consultations ,education tours and HIV/AIDS campaign.
3. SPECIAL NEEDS
Establishment of special need projects .So far emphasis will be given to disabled, youth, women and total orphans, aged people and HIV/AIDS.
The programme provides its services to all people without considering their creed color ethnicity and religious.
4. WATER DEVELOPMENT
Establishment of low cost water system, so far emphasis will be put on quality of water, deduction of distances that people travels to get water, may also consider the population and introduction of system that people can manage with depending Aids. Major areas so far identified include; vapor/rain water harvesting, carping of wells and spring water protection.
5. HEALTH CARE
Establishment of community based health care whose emphasis is carrying of self health and involving a whole community in health. Health education is paramount in this approach
6. INCOME GENERATING PROJECTS
Establishment of income generating activities emphasis will be given on bee keeping poultry keeping, vegetable growing, natural building constructions,baking, cook stoves, improved energy (jikos), fruit, serving and investments micro – enterprises education dairy animal.
7. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Establishment of environmental education emphasis will be put on Government policy, forestry conservation, water conservation soil conservation, vermiculture wild animal conservation Agro forestry technology targeting bio carbon and green gases management.
8. DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION
Establishment of development education that is geared towards assisting people understand the Root causes of their problem and planning for ways and means of solving them. Assisting children from poor family to acquire basic primary and secondary education emphasis will be given to training people towards reformation.

ACHIEVEMENTS
1. We have 520 vetiver grass nurseries for 520 homes in Butere/Khwisero/Mumias for soil conservation
2. 34 boreholes have been drilled in Butere/Khwisero Sub counties from 2010 to 2013
3. 520 medicinal garden planted in Butere/Khwisero Sub counties

METHODOLOGY OF IMPLIMENTATION
Shisaba water resource initiative (SHWARI)believe strongly on peoples centered approach ,where decision concerning setting priorities must be of the people .However ,for matter of management ,Shisaba water initiative (SHWARI)as a community based organization (C.B.O)has executive board, executive council whose primary task is to take major decision in regard to project and programme implementation. Ec has to appoint five members of the planning and implementation committee for planning and setting priorities identifies need, its areas, materials and man power monitoring the growth of the programme and evaluating the impact this committee sit oftenly then the ec.
The programme coordination has a task of organizing the staff to see that the decision of the executive council is implemented.
